Broad Function and Purpose of Position: 

The Inventory Demand Planner Manager is responsible for leading the Demand Planning Team for Sika US as well as executing day to day business needs related to demand planning as a working manager.  The Material Inventory Management Analyst will serve as the functional expert of our forecasting process, facilitate SIOP execution for key business units, and seek to improve collaboration with our business partners that achieve the best business outcomes. This role is also responsible for inventory guidance and oversight across the organization including slow moving and obsolete (SLOB), new SKU introduction and end-of-life process management.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight to organizational inventory targets and lead critical inventory meetings across the business.
  • Drive central inventory analytics and optimization to support weekly, monthly, and quarterly cadence.
  • Distribute weekly and monthly inventory updates to the Leadership Team and Operations sites.
  • Provides professional business support as an expert inventory analyst.
  • Guide a team of Demand Planners to a world class forecasting and SIOP process.
  • Lead the utilization and best practice of Integrated Business Planning (IBP) - demand forecasting module, to drive continuous improvement within the demand planning process.
  • Lead content creation as part of the SIOP process including the presentation of the demand plan, assumptions, drivers, and risks.
  • Drive the discussions during SIOP meetings to ensure cross-functional collaboration of marketing, sales, operations, and financial objectives.
  • Provide analytical support during the demand planning process to ensure consistency with demand planning guidelines.
  • Challenge the sales assumptions when significant deviations occur between the demand-based revenue plan and the business plan.
  • Compile Executive Team summary from monthly SIOP meetings notes.
  • Monitor forecast accuracy KPI for Sika U.S. and drive actions to improve performance.
  • Collaborate with individual business units to create material objects and realignment of sales history to support business growth and changes of distribution points.
  • Provide on-going training to users to ensure understanding of and maximize benefits of IBP.
  • Lead individual SIOP and demand planning as assigned.
  • Participate in broad supply chain and business operations initiatives on behalf of the Supply Chain.
  • Fulfill other duties as determined by the Vice President of Supply Chain.

Your expertise - Our strength

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Education:  BA/BS in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent.
  • Experience: 5+ years in manufacturing, supply chain, and/or inventory management

Special Requirements/Competencies:

  • Strong analytical skills in process/data, exceptional problem solving, and able to make improvements.
  • Knowledge of supply chain processes required; inventory management including components of inventory, demand and supply management, capacity planning, and materials management.
  • Proficiency in SAP required. Experience using advanced planning and scheduling tools (SAP-IBP)
  • Ability to influence key stakeholders through the organization, resolving conflicts and drive results, bridge between different functions and teams.
  • Previous experience in working with data including analytical analysis which encompasses daily KPI reports and/or reporting measures.
  • Well organized, structural and process driven with a speed & execution mindset.
  • Must be advanced in the use of Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
