This position has the knowledge and demonstrates ability to operate state of the art mixers, pumping equipment, hi-speed mixers, and tinting equipment in the production area. Follow process orders from beginning to end and record all pertinent information. Individual will add materials at specified quantities and times, observe temperatures and or mixtures and chemical reactions, record necessary batch information, and take, conduct and record samples at designated times to ensure timely, consistent, quality batches. Mixer will operate forklift and other material handling equipment. Participate in confined space entry pot cleaning activities, which include use of body harness and extraction system. Mixing position will participate in determining and implementing corrective actions. Must be able to wear all required PPE including air purified respirators. This position may also be assigned tasks in other functional areas as required to help support overall success of the facility.
The Production Operator will lift 65 pounds throughout the shift. Maximum lifting requirements are 80 - 90 pounds and must be able to push/pull up to 100 - 150 pounds. Work within a confined space is required and the position will work with chemicals.
The Production Operator will read batch tickets and must be able to understand and communicate in English to operate machines and interface with PLC control screens, read and complete process orders, complete safety tests.
The Mixer Operator must be able to solve simple math problems to accurately record chemical additions, lot numbers, and scale readings.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Works well with others and alone, can follow procedures and written directions, can work with minimal supervision, ability to perform basic math with or without a calculator, ability to work different shifts, familiarity with mixing and color matching equipment preferred, can set-up and perform minor repairs to frequently used equipment
Meet daily manufacturing output goals and objectives, prepare products which meet product quality specifications, work in accordance with company policies and procedures including regulatory and human resource related subject matter. Work in a safe and compliant manner.
Basic qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Preferred 1 year of experience in manufacturing.
- Preferred - 1 year of forklift experience
- Must have experience in confined space entry.
- Previous mixing or compounding experience a plus
- Night Shift - 5:00 pm - 5:30 am
